Background info - Education: UWM Milwaukee; UNM Albuequerque (BFA degree); UW Whitewater WI state teaching certification (pre K - 12 art specialist). Received the Herb Kohl Fellowship Award for Teaching. Current president of Geneva Lake Arts Foundation Inc. ( a 501c3 not for profit)and I am a frequent exhibitor at their Gallery 223. I have worked in many 2-D and 3-D mediums which include metal, ceramics, printmaking, painting and drawing. My inspiration comes from nature and the human environment. My inspiration from nature happened because I live surrounded by woods and wildlife. In my art I am always concerned about the use of space and focus on the negative space that is created in the composition. My passion for drawing is often reflected in my other work. Upon retirement from teaching I was fortunate to illustrate two children's books, and I am currently working on a third book by Marilyn Ellman. In my artwork, I focus on the details of the subject which I often photograph to use for future reference.I am also passionate about bringing the arts to my students and to the community.
